Dark grey double-breasted wool coat with notch lapels, double welt pockets, contrasting cotton lining, covered buttons and hidden hooks to alter the volume and shape of the garment. Worn over a double-checked cotton maxi chemisier with a shirt collar, front pocket, V-cuts on the neckline and sleeves, and ocher-coloured vichy inner sections. Denim trousers with tailored darts, checked cut-out sections and exposed matching pocket lining.

concept

Marite and Rolands were mesmerised by the wonderful hats worn in "Klimt", the 2006 film by Raoul Ruiz. The women wearing them looked unreal, incredibly affecting, very strong, almost ideal. The idea was to start from the hats - looking at late 18th century versions wore by aristocratic women - making them the storytelling elements of 8 different characters with their own information and unique presentation, each one of them describing ideas and concepts we could all relate too. A kitchen, a gardener's tools, the street where we would play as children, a concert, a party table with a cake, a fast food, a school, a radio. Each outfit becomes an installation in itself, with an intentional dichotomy in volumes between the head (the artistic and conceptual side carrying most of the information) and the rest of the body (the pret-à-porter aspect, almost reduced to being the idea carrier).
