Uniqueness is...reorganising elements

concept

Everything has already been invented, there is no room to create anything new, no way of saying something new. The only path to take is to reorganise elements that already exist in a new and unique way. We can only create new combinations that give a new meaning to what has already been tried. Using everyday objects like ballpoints, yoghurt and cellar tape, Levi Van Veluw framed unique performances with his own body as the installation. He was aware that the space for his work to be successful was a very small one, always one step away from resulting in a bad combination. Through trial and error, he explored a way to create aesthetic images that would also be stories the viewer would discover themselves.
