ITS 2020 explained episode 22: Finding order in disorder, by Jing Han.
21 May 2021
Jing Han is a jewellery designer accomplished in working with metal, ceramics, leather and textiles and has had works exhibited in London, Italy and Germany. She was selected as a finalist for ITS 2020 with her collection “Order and Disorder – Wearing Ropes”
Jing got fascinated by researching rope construction techniques and rope linking. Jewellery ropes were the initial idea, but the concept widened to welcome ropes in all shapes and incarnations, realising that opening up ropes to reveal the construction technique would create beautiful aesthetics too: a very ordered method created to build a rope would retain its beauty when disordered. She then applied this beauty of order and disorder on the human body, figuring out unexpected or pleasantly balanced ways of wearing a rope, by playing with size, shapes and materials.
International Talent Support was launched in 2002 and throughout its history it has developed into the most highly recognized platform to showcase & support the strongest young talents on the planet. Most importantly, it created an ever-growing family supporting creativity, like branches on a tree growing in different directions, yet nurtured by the same roots. It has built an impressive Creative Archive, a unique collection tracing the history of fashion evolution. Many of the over 630 finalists were selected by top fashion brands where they now hold key positions, or have successfully developed their own lines.
