Barbara Franchin stands at the helm of the Fondazione ITS, steering both the ITS Contest and the ITS Arcademy - Museum of Art in Fashion – Italy’s first contemporary fashion museum.
Born and raised in the cosmopolitan city of Trieste, Italy, Barbara cultivated a singular and unrestricted perspective on creativity. This vision led her to found EVE in 2001, a pioneering creative agency driven by a dynamic team of young visionaries.

Quickly earning critical acclaim, the contest captured the interest of media, influencers, intellectuals, and key figures in the international fashion landscape, establishing itself as one of the world’s most prestigious launchpads for emerging design talents. Transitioning from its original framework, EVE evolved into a cultural association in 2006 and into Fondazione ITS in 2022.

Driven by her love for art and culture, and committed to preserving and showcasing the raw creativity unearthed through the ITS Contest, Barbara has assembled an unparalleled collection encompassing 14,840 portfolios, 1,100 fashion pieces, 165 accessories, 120 pieces of jewelry, and more than 700 digital photography projects.

These are now contained within ITS Arcademy - Museum of Art in Fashion, a pioneering space combining an exhibition area, a creative archive, and an educational hub.
Barbara Franchin has been recognised for her contributions to the promotion of creativity, earning a spot on Elle Magazine's list of the 100 most influential women in fashion, inclusion in The Business of Fashion's BoF 500 list, and being named one of Forbes' 100 successful women in leadership and creativity.

As a descendant of Diesel’s founder, he was drawn to fashion, studying pattern cutting in Padua and later discovering a passion for nonconformist skills in California.

He pursued Textile Development and Marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, before conceiving his role inside the family business. Andrea led the creative development of Diesel Living, launched in 2008 as home textiles, now including partnerships with top design firms like Moroso, Lodes, and Scavolini. Francesca Tacconi

Pitti Immagine Guest Designers Curator

She has been the Special Events Coordinator at Pitti Immagine for about 10 years, overseeing all the special events of the fairs organized by the company, from Pitti Uomo to Pitti Filati, from Taste to Fragranze, and the brand-new Testo.

Her professional career in Pitti started right after graduating in Foreign Languages and Art at the University of Florence with a great teacher, Mr. Giuseppe Bevilacqua. In the beginning, she was working for the Press Office. Part of her duties was sharing information and taking care of the Italian and international press, communicating not only their trade fairs, but also their exhibitions dedicated to fashion culture (curated by Mr. Luigi Settembrini, Maria Luisa Frisa, Stefano Tonchi…), and the peculiar contemporary art program directed by Mr. Francesco Bonami for the Fondazione Pitti Discovery.

Later on, the company decided to develop an internal Special Events Division, and she was gladly given the opportunity to coordinate it. Organising special events proved to be a challenging puzzle as it entails the constant need to be dealing with a great variety of characters (many different egos!), heterogeneous cultures, everchanging venues/stages
and… weather conditions. Empathy is a key factor. She succeeds if the final result comes together as an organic whole and not just the sum of the single pieces! On the occasion of
their international press tours she is the “events spokeswoman”.

She owes her training to many masters of communication, fashion, art, architecture… She owes the success in her job to her curiosity and to an attitude of listening to and learning from
people.
