concept

Noa based her project on the contrast of her grandmother’s fifty year-old pattern notebook with contemporary 3D CAD simulation software. The difference in approach to dimension and perspective captivated her curiosity. In the notebook she could see every pattern from two sides, while the software enabled her to see the simulation from any point of view. It was fascinating how every little detail of the simulation changed according to the angle. This led to the design of her garments: the prints - inspired from men's tailoring and Optical Art - achieved an illusion of perspective to feel as if looking at them from different angles rather than a frontal view.
