concept
Jing became fascinated while researching rope construction techniques and rope linking. Although jewellery ropes were her initial idea, the concept was broadened to integrate ropes in all shapes and incarnations. Having discovered that opening up ropes to reveal the assemblage of fibres would create beautiful aesthetics: a meticulous process devised to construct a rope retains its beauty even when unraveled. She then applied this beauty of order and disorder on the human body, discovering an unexpected and delightful balance in the adornment of rope, by playing with size, shapes and materials.
