concept

Focused on creating a utilitarian womenswear collection while contrasting gender formalities. Her research stemmed from ideas of mass-production and popular culture. Looking into the idea of what defines “womenswear” she designed a uniform collaged and created from men's tailoring and formalwear. Using basic, traditional workwear shapes and turning them inside out to reveal construction and seams, her uniforms change through textile manipulation and development. Each garment is then rendered bespoke using unconventional industrial materials like smeared pvc.
