concept
A collection consisting literally of fossils from the future depicting the "throw-away" era. These "Semi-Slugs” are previews of life forms to come, possibly even from the next generation. The irresponsibility of man has left many scars on our planet. The mutations caused by the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, testimony to how the effects of negligence can be long-lasting. It might be tempting to name the afflicted offsprings malformed, however these mutations are proof of nature’s innate ability to prevail. As our tainted planet fights to heal itself, Corrina Goutos suggests that the boundary between industry products and nature will become more and more blurred, in an endless battle between nature reclaiming territory and humans attempting to colonise and contaminate it.
