concept

Living in Hokkaido, Japan's largest island, known for its rich variety of ecosystems and vast reserves of untouched nature. Where everyday the cycle of life is witnessed, an the endless regeneration set in motion by the seasons. Nature and all living organisms wake up to new life in a symphony of energy and colours that carries them through spring and summer to wither in autumn and prepare for the cold winter months ahead. A jewellery collection portraying this richness by creating entirely new kinds of plants staging the seasonal transitions she experienced at home. Creating a romantic jungle, made up of materials that are not living but filled with such sentiment from Asumi Maeda’s creative process that inevitably they have a soul, bringing them to life..
