concept

Through a process that began with traveling around Eastern Europe for a few months, living out of what could be carried in a backpack and questioning what was really needed, functional, meaningful and necessary. Anni Salonen became inspired by people living mobile lives, in particular by new age travellers with their lifestyle of free festivals, raves and demonstrations. They live and travel in vans, hippie buses and horse carriages, escaping from a boring life of rules and routines and materialistic values. Smocked recycled paisley scarves, tie-dye hoodies, hand-painted trousers, bleached jumpers, bomber jackets and parka coats work together in telling this story.
