concept

Inspired by aspects from the 19th century, oil paintings of that period: their dark and rich colours, and the portrayal of velvet suits and ruffles in children’s apparel, with elaborate floral embroideries. Mixed with an element of modernity from Steven Patrick Morrissey as the muse to maintain romanticism - and drawing inspiration from iconic coats of the 50s, particularly those highlighting a contrast between the feminine and the masculine. All embroideries and applications are recycled second-hand findings.
