concept
Filippo Soffiati described the emotions he felt when he first stepped into a church as a child. Sensual, motionless bodies emerging from the shadows, a crowd of statues both watching and indulging stares. His collection outfits are all focused on the body: simulated or real, veiled or hidden. Clothes become a second skin, a new body protecting what is underneath. Paddings, lightly veiled with silk organza, outline muscles and the chest. Floating drapes are frozen and fixed to the dress. Cuts and wounds turn into precious, aesthetic details.
