Where is my death?

technical description

Part of a collection of artefacts representing a short story about death written by the designer. Snake made with debossed leather personally developed by the designer, hand-painted in black, burgundy and red. Hand-stitched zip running along the entire body of the artefact. Undoing the zip reveals a set of small glass flasks containing snake poison. Sides sealed with two wooden shapes engraved with the symbol of death.

concept

Woojung’s objects are fashion artefacts as much as they represent an art installation. They physically embody a short story written on our relationship with death, a story of fascination and fear: “Because It lost its death, It couldn't live and It couldn't die. So It started its journey to find its death. It went to the forest, met a spider. The spider said, I can give you death with my bite. But It was too scared of his webs. It went to the desert, met a snake. The snake said, I can give you death with my bite. But It was too scared of her poison. It went to the sea, met sharks. The sharks said, we can give you death with our bites. But It was too scared of their teeth".
