technical description

Part of a collection of footwear inspired by the Taiwanese culinary tradition. Each of the six styles represents a course on a Taiwanese menu: the lobster, with a metal heel and ostrich leg leather upper; the steam dumpling, a wooden structure covered in laser-cut leather; the starter, the BBQ, and the dessert: a pair of women's shoes with beech wood heel, velvet insole, and a woven tubular mesh upper.

concept

You are what you eat. This is the underling assumption for the collection concept, a surreal and delicious “shoe banquet” ready to be served to imaginary guests. Each of the 6 different styles represents a different course on the menu, and each shoe is deconstructible in its own way, depending on how one would eat the dish. From the starter, to spaghetti, steam dumplings, lobster, BBQ and dessert, this is a collection full of flavour and texture with a surreal aesthetic.
