Asymmetrical one-shoulder cotton evening dress composed of patchwork panels mounted with external stitching and reflecting a collage trompe l'oeil effect, hand-painted and embroidered with floral motifs, with a crinoline petticoat and a raw-cut edge.

concept

Richard Quinn is deconstructing traditional couture images of the past. The clothes of his collection look like juxtaposed collages made from ripped pages of fashion magazines, creating an entirely new, modern couture that references the past. He hand painted his clothes as if he were a painter standing in front of a blank canvas, pairing this technique with screen printing and embroidery. Each dress is a mix of shape and texture, made to look like they were torn in half and re-attached.
