Collection starting from our imperfect bodies and using them as a mould to create beautiful artefacts. Conceptual, hardware-free footwear with a sculptural dimension made of glass, metal and leather.

concept

Based on personal experiences of reconstructive jaw surgeries, the collection explores the relationship between identity and the body and questions the need to reach an ideal beauty dictated by society. Can our own imperfect body still be the starting point for aesthetically beautiful artefacts? And can these artefacts identify the struggle of the body against the dictatorship of the object that forces it to fit into specific aesthetic codes? Pieces lie on the border between the conceptually abstract and the object-oriented product, referring conventional objects through a sculptural design language that uses glass, metal and leather.
