concept

Loyalty, honour, sacrifice and self-surrender. This backpack collection is an aesthetical representation of the qualities of samurai women. Fluid shapes evolved from experimenting with woven textures: resembling cocoons, pieces communicate a safeness and appearance of vital structures. A reminder of how women are infinite home defenders, weaving a nest with their hands and hearts, bearing the weight on their backs. A language of patterns and knots describes a layered intimacy using intense, deep colours. Respected tradition contrasting with innovative treatment of shapes bring a harmonious encounter of past and present.
