technical description

Part of a collection of evanescent sculptures created through a modular textile in acetate and perspex self-developed by the designer. Mostly transparent headpiece that is spray painted in various colours along the edges. The modules create a net, where each element is connected to the others by means of metal rings.

concept

What would it feel like to wear a cloud? The head/body pieces explore the conditions and forms of the ethereal. A series of sculptural pieces that blur the boundaries of surrounding space for the wearer and seek to transcend the traditional expectations of headwear. The aesthetics of the collection is inspired by the futuristic mood of sound and imagery taken from Robert Wilson’s 1976 production of Philip Glass’ opera “Einstein on the Beach”. The pieces were a sensation when they were first released, captivating the attention of singer & songwriter Bjork who wore custom items during her world tours and on the cover of her "Vulnicura" album.
