technical description
Collection with a minimalistic and polished style that transforms archetypes of accessories into surreal artefacts, combining traditional working methods and materials with experimental techniques, such as glass blowing, CNC milling, metal and leather working.
Size 325x255x180mm, 5900 gr., 2014.
concept
Focused on manifestations of the varying stages of dysmorphia, on the traits which cause Proteus Syndrome, a rare condition characterised by the overgrowth of bones, skin and other tissues. Each piece expresses a different element of the disorder and the collection as a whole represents the syndrome. The pieces play with preconceptions in order to reach a level of understanding while at the same time act as a form of medical documentation through the use of material relevance and product. Each element of the production process is documented and relayed to the viewer through a bespoke scent.
