concept

The history, aesthetic and attraction of fear. Masks are among the oldest objects that humans use to scare away evil. A great number of cultures scattered all over the globe have produced masks decorated with terrifying images of the wearer's fears. Combined with the mask's ability to hide identity and live another life, as with the traditional Venetian mask such as the "moretta", "volto" or the "jester". The shapes - developed in resin and latex via 3D printing - describe the aesthetic of modern fears like viruses and insects.
