Don't throw anything out of the window

2012-silvia-romanelli-bag
technical description

Part of a collection of accessories that are a modern answer to the overwhelming presence of concrete around us. Beige and brown leather bag with synthetic grass lining and fastenings recycled from pre-existing objects. The wearer can open it, lay it on the floor and sit on an island of grass.

Size 470x270x80mm, 1492 gr., 2012.

concept

This collection was developed in response to the unstoppable growth of concrete around us, while in the early stages shapes, textures and colours drew inspiration from orthopaedics. The naturally carved woods used by Silvia were selected for their ability to convey energy, paying attention to the veins, the colours and scents. They are combined with small artificial grass meadows to emphasise the importance of nature's influence on health. Most materials, from the nails used to fasten the straps to the closures for the bags, were recycled from existing objects.
