2012-marius-janusauskas-fashion-05
technical description

Cotton fabric treated with natural soil to create a decay pattern on the textile surface of the corset and trousers. Lines of plastic tubes create the structure of the corset, with silk and nylon handmade flowers at the back. Back closure in hospital gown style, hand-stitched red thread, and handmade flowers are decorated with candle-burned hemlines creating a dramatic effect.

concept

The fairytale of Sleeping Beauty, horror movies, work of Madame Grès and sculptures by Pablo Atchugarry, distilled in a collection about the idea of deference. Designer Marius Janusauskas depicts the story of a perfectly passive woman who remains motionless throughout an era. Her vital colours are vanishing. She is turning into an undead. The only sign of life is her blood, running through the stitches of her garments. She is trapped in time. Time pleated into the front of her clothes. Her back is cold, minimal, clinical.
