concept

What is wearable? Forward vision compels a concentration of interest towards the face rather than the back of the neck. Adversely attention here is focused on the nape. In oriental fashion it is a seducible and seductive area of the female body: the Japanese kimono highlights its sensuality. Hanwen has recovered this tradition by designing specifically for the nape. Researching hairstyle to historically learn about the role of hair in highlighting or hiding this specific part of the body merged with the delicate mix of orchid shapes. Producing extraordinary pieces for a neglected area of the body, tracing a new direction in jewellery design with this project.
