concept
The initial research for this collection led Keeley to contemplate the underlying complexities of the sneaker market. It was fascinating to see the iconic status some give to the humble sports shoe and the unfaltering devotion held towards certain sportswear brands. Keeley then discovered the Amsterdam-based design company Jules David, developing beautifully constructed patterns inspired by sneaker shapes, textures and colour. This was the missing link she was looking for to translate the sneakers' aesthetic into her designs. She produced her own print patterns made from abstracted trainer images. Seeking to extract the urban rawness associated with trainers and filter it into shoes with subtle feminine elegance.
