Originality lies within

2009-erik-boker-photo-01.jpg
concept

Erik's work deals with idiosyncrasies, inherent flaws, pasteurised realities, delirious conventions, bubbly paradoxes and ambiguous excreta that may spill out of the current world culture and its consumerist ethos. This project was an ongoing exploration of the roles of art, science, taxonomy, the consumer, the museum and the institution, product and marketing, anatomy and archaeology, and our relationship with seemingly insignificant objects and materials that affect us daily. Peeling back the skin of consumerism at the same time created a new, entirely original object that is quite different and even antithetical from its origin and from its original function.
