Symmetrical patchwork cotton and wool bomber jacket featuring geometric motifs in varying shades of grey with a central metal zip, tailored sleeves, an elastic waistband and a matching patchwork hood. Worn over a pair of light grey cotton jersey trousers with an elastic drawstring, side pockets and symmetrical patchwork detailing on the crotch.

concept

Stirred by horrific facial injuries of World War I, where recognisable features were distorted and made abstract. Taking hints of inspiration from natural forms like horses and birds, combining their organic shapes with futuristic geometric patterning. The bags are made from strips of tie silk, to resemble military medal ribbons as are the knitted balaclavas and gloves. Much of the collection is patch-work, using anything from shirting and suiting to fur and velvet. Developing a way of creating images by melting together layers of semi-opaque plastic, different densities to devise different shades. Using a monochrome palette to develop images. Some of the distorted facial features were also developed by enlarging parts of photographs.
