concept

Yang was inspired by a trip to Egypt for this collection. As a painter before turning to fashion design, her development process started with oil canvasses to set the mood and, as in this case, inspired the colours, shapes and prints (the inside linings here) for her outfits. Each garment is is also a love letter to Franco Moschino (Yang's favourite designer), a combination of exuberantly bright colours and rich textures, mixing fake fur and knitting. All the silhouettes are very simple, fake fur cape-like jumpers and dresses with stuffed bottoms. It is a relaxed collection that focuses on fun, yet sexy in a very subtle way.
