concept
Inspired by the spirit of the contemporary urban environments and by the freedom and creativity of modern architecture, both a representation of the power and strength of free, uncensored thought. This feeling of endless opportunities and boundless possibilities was taken into her project. Mika wanted to design both structured and metal-based jewellery, giving a sense of elevation, freedom and lightness to the stones. Architects Renzo Piano, Zaha Hadid, Daniel Libeskind, Santiago Calatrava, IM Pei as well as fashion designers Yohji Yamamoto, Alberta Ferretti, Missoni and Gianfranco Ferrè all influenced her designs.
