The other side of migration

2008-mashid-mohadjerin-photo-01.jpg
concept

Three quarters of the men in Tajikistan work outside their country. When they migrate for work, what happens to their wives and families? Mashid looked for answers in the faces and stories of the women waiting for their men to come back home. This photographic research moved in the direction of a slow observation, being able to express feelings of loneliness and dignified defeat, without forgetting social and anthropological aspects. There is much intensity, but no candid shots.
