Gianmaria Gava's photo series is a project about people and their alternate homes. Portraits shot in the gardens of the Schmelz, in Vienna, revealing wide green spaces studded with brightly colored little houses contrasting the surrounding 6 storey buildings: a rural outpost in the centre of an international capital, the result of continued transformation of necessities and taste. This is indeed a "Little Austria", an alternative version, another side of living. It is an escape from the city without ever leaving it.
