technical description

Full-length hooded lycra suit featuring a printed beige, white, black and red tartan geometric pattern reminiscent of Burberry designs, and an irregular yellow maxi smiley. Worn under a green cotton hooded parka military jacket trimmed with white synthetic fur, draped with drawstrings, deconstructed and reassembled using recycled cotton fabric inserts printed with ethnically-inspired floral motifs, overlaid and draped, hand curled and pleated. Printed cotton balloon skirt with floral motifs in pastel shades mounted on a contrasting printed basque; asymmetrical folds blocked by stitching and draped by hand, curled white and blue striped fabric inserts.

concept

When appointed professor of Architecture at the Royal Academy in London in 1806, Sir John Soane began arranging architecture books, casts and models in his house, opening it to students the day before and after his lectures. The house became a museum and was soon after described as an “Academy of Architecture”. Sculptures, objects, medals, architectural drawings and prints, medieval pieces...a huge collection coming from the whole world with the most diverse colours, tastes and materials. Amai’s collection is composed of character living in John Soane’s museum house. They are ghosts, blending like chameleons and hiding in the corners of the rooms.
