concept
What is beautiful? What is ugly? And can something be beautiful and ugly at the same time? Can every human being recognise what is beautiful? Sabrina tried to answer these timeless questions with a collection pieced together bit by bit. Her garment development system worked through intentional and unintentional accidents, inside a kind of artificial framework where the usual is refused and kitsch is welcomed. Inspired by Barbie doll and prom dresses, and by the dark atmosphere of the horror movie “Carrie” by Brian de Palma, her outfits were created bordering between beauty and ugliness questioning our perception of what is objective and what is subjective. Regardless, whether we like it or not, her outfits simply claim existence.
