2007-mirela-diaconu-shoe
technical description

Pumps constructed using two layers of materials: a smooth black leather front and a light brown suede heel forming visible wrinkles. Plateau covered with light brown suede and lining matching the black leather upper.

Size 320x240x150mm, 296 gr., 2007.

concept

Beginning with the idea of protection, wrapping and creating a second skin. Mirela’s shoes not only cover the feet, they re-design its profile. The focus therefore shifts from the natural silhouette of the foot to the volumes of the fabric. Nevertheless, in Mirela's opinion these volumes have to produce feminine shapes and structures, from the toe to the heel and from the sole to the decollete. A “second skin” for an alternative femininity of the foot, with a provocative woman in mind, confident in her sensuality, showing off her shoes rather than wearing them.
