technical description

Size 1030x450x250mm, 1500 gr., 2006

concept

The starting point of this collection was the graphic transcription of scientific phenomena or extraordinary natural curiosities (diagrams of geological cross-sections, studies of crystallized rocks, etc) and also the ways in which these materials were used in rococo ornamentation such as furniture and architecture. Matthieu aims at synthesising natural shapes and reorganising them on the body, creating graphic outfits by using black and white stripes to symbolise scientific notes and underline the division of elements.
