concept
Dedicating hours observing how people sit in the metro, on buses, on benches in the park, paying particular attention to how bags are positioned on laps. This evolved into a study of ways of “sitting and waiting” and of “carrying and concealing”. Skye Gwillim then came up with modrock casts and CNC routed plywood legs in the positions she chose to develop for her collection, and configured the shapes of her bags around them. The end result is a personal interpretation of how a bag can dictate the interaction with our body when we sit.
