concept

Inspired by the geography of deltas, where lives flourish and civilizations boom, this collection explores both the fluidity and solidity of deltas in the natural landscape. By using solid materials such as acrylic and chain mail to echo the duality between the fluid forms of the Yangtze River delta and the fixity of its mapped representation, an abstract and wearable geography is created, mimicking water strips with twisted acrylic rods and slices of perspex. The pieces embody the controlled chaos, as well as the beauty, of the natural world and uses the curves and bends of the human body to recall the landscape of the delta.
