concept

Outrospection; the body and mind

The concept of "outrospection" - the starting point for this collection of artefacts - was initially proposed by philosopher Roman Kznaric who stated that in order to know oneself one must live towards the outside: it is by experiencing life that one discovers and shapes oneself. Ultimately, outrospection is the ability to knowing oneself by developing relationships and empathic thinking with others, understanding and identifying with the point of view of our fellow human beings. Taking this idea and combining it with out-of-body experiences, more commonly known as astral projections: these pieces are a metaphorical representation of the mind being projected inwards out of the body, a gateway to self-expression and awareness.
