concept

The adventurous exploration of tribal hunting armour. Asymmetrical animalistic structures that "grow" out of the silhouettes. Volume is used on body areas where it usually does not belong. Inspired by the natural aggressive defence mechanisms of animals, that enlarge their bodies in order to appear bigger and more powerful, the whole collection is constructed by using hard and soft materials in order to create a skeletal structure within the soft, organic and floaty leathers. The pieces are a cross-over between accessories and garments, tackling the approach to how accessories are usually worn from an entirely different perspective. Main techniques were traditional leather handcrafts such as saddler’s hand-stitching and lacing used in the army.
