Originality is the elixir of a long life

The project’s purpose is to show how one man's most original "creation" is his own life. Luigi has developed this idea by taking portraits of about a hundred Sardinian people 100 years of age or more. Faces filled with an ancient fascination whose eyes tell the past. Centenarians, they are men and women that have gone through over a century of “lights and shadows” to get to the new millennium becoming in time extraordinary witnesses of the changing times. If longevity represents the link between these human beings which have lived in two centuries, it is also true that there is no one specific identikit of the centenarian. Each one is only equal to themself and it is this singularity which transpires. The power of their faces, drawn and reshaped by the uniqueness of their paths, show us how old age is able to offer pride and "joie de vivre", a different poetry, an unknown dimension of our own existence.
