concept

Reflecting on the uncertain times the world was going through in 2008, with chaos and conflicts in many countries. This collection came in response to Irene’s own questions and doubts about that period. What is the right solution, attacking or embracing our enemy? We can communicate with the whole world through the internet but we can't think of solutions for our differences. Protection and privacy were developing into the key elements of the day. Do we have to give up our privacy to feel safe? Her hats leave possibilities open: they can be worn narcissistically but it is also possible to hide behind them, wearing them like a mask. A choice: do we want people to see us or would we rather hide?
