concept

Starting with the 1920s. Looking at Art Deco elements David found inspiration in the combination of soft elegant shapes and more defined and graphical elements of the time. Letting such partly decorative, soft and feminine shapes meet with a more adventurously industrial feel, creating something with a more modern twist of femininity, an abundant yet calm and balanced elegance. Using brushed and softened cottons paired with silks on the inside of the garments he provided a strong luxurious feel, creating an exclusively haptic experience for the wearer, counterposing this to his outer materials, with which he wanted to embrace a sense of progress and modernity, reflected by the use of metal zip fasteners and polyester.
