concept

As a little girl Lawrence used to spy on her neighbour. She had heard that she had gone mad after being jilted at the altar. She wasn't quite sure what she was looking for, maybe a role model? Or just another world to escape to? She found all sorts of ways to spy on her, discovered how she had been educated, how she had used her seduction to capture her man. She seemed to be filled with regrets and Lawrence herself felt regret for not possessing the key to free her from her lost paradise. The collection became a way to visualise 4 stages in the life of her childhood neighbour: education, seduction, capture of man and finally the disillusionment.
