Interrogating on the theme of survival in borders around the world, Monica was interested in capturing stories that are a testament of courage. Capturing the human being who is capable of doing anything in order to have a new life. Focusing on the journey of the immigrant and the moment of nothingness when crossing these borders. Immigrants leave their past life but have not arrived at their promised land yet, they exist between two worlds. The reality is far away from what they think it will be, they are confronted with the unimaginable. Conscious about the problematics experienced on borders around the world, Monica's objective was to create visual content precisely as a defense of the self.
