concept
Inspired by French multimedia artist Orlan, who underwent plastic surgery to change her face and body, Haizhen agrees that the skin is deceiving. "We only have one skin. Yet, there is a bad exchange in human relations because one never is what one has, there is no exception to the rule." Haizhen expressed this contrast through a series of test experiments on a dummy, playing with transformations and reconstructions. He exploded the fabric surrounding the body using viscose jersey and wool. He combined 1950s high fitted waist tailor jackets with double buckle belts, draping with wool-like viscose to create a highly active contrast.
