concept
Rani was inspired by a trip to Romania in the summer of 2005 as well as by the 50’s Belgian magazine “De Vrouw en Haar Huis”, with its exquisite illustrations and delightful patterns. With a fascination of tribes and by the pureness and beauty of their appearance. Stirred by the honest, rough style of the Romanian people - their use of raw materials combined with lace and playful embroidery. Rani feels that tribalism includes a mystical part of life and she embraces a mysterious, almost surreal atmosphere (symbolically visualised by the horn of the unicorn) for the collection.
