concept

This collection was fundamentally focused on the process. Three-dimensionally, it captures the essence of creating lines around the body and was intended as a series of sculptures made almost entirely from vegetal leather. It is to be considered as a hybrid project blending footwear, art and accessories, with the items transcending their fashion nature to become storytelling elements. Janet used traditional leather working techniques focusing on hand stitching, leather lacing, leather moulding and surface etched graphics. Developing shapes through practical experimentation based on the idea of a changing and growing silhouette.
