19th Giornata del Contemporaneo
ITS Arcademy participates in the 19th Giornata del Contemporaneo with a free creative workshop dedicated to the ancient art of maritime knots.
Reservation is required.
Beautiful knots - from the simple flat knot to the more intricate Carrick knot - will become part of an original accessory designed for those who love and respect the sea and its traditions. Participants will use ropes and cords from reclaimed and therefore sustainable sources and they will create a unique accessory.

Every October, Trieste celebrates its identity as a windswept port city, a crossroads of ideas and exchanges among people. This creative workshop (in Italian) will be the perfect opportunity to experience one of the oldest and most captivating expressions of seamanship and explore the relationship between craftsmanship, fashion, and art in the new spaces of ITS Arcademy – Museum of Art in Fashion. The workshop’s title – Forget Me Knot – is an invitation to always remember the urgent need to protect the sea and the environment.
The Giornata del Contemporaneo is the annual flagship event promoted by AMACI – Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums, involving museums, foundations, public and private institutions, galleries, studios, and artist spaces to showcase the vitality of contemporary art in the country. It is supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture.
